We have wrapped up Les Leopold’s book on Inequality and have learned a ton! Jesus would and will address inequality in His time.
Unfortunately, until He comes, we will have a very difficult time changing the underlying reasons behind inequality unless we first change some of the mechanics of our political system that systemically locks out such change. The answer to that lies with an organization we’ve come to love, Unite America – although we keep separate identities given our charitable work and their policy work even though both of us are non-profits. (We do know the leaders there so, if you are interested, please let us know and we will more than happy to connect you with them.
Our next book moves us a little closer to that realm and is called, “How Would Jesus Vote,” by Darrell Bock. Dr. Bock is a professor at the well-respected Dallas Theological Seminary and has written extensively on faith and politics. We found the book well-rounded and comprehensive and a wonderful foundation for bringing intelligent discussion and dialogue to an intersection (faith & politics) which tends to get swept under the rug in most places.
So, we’ll start this series on Sunday and cover chapters 1-3. Looking forward to learning together with all of you!
