Last month as many of you may recall, the LIGHT! serves as the executive sponsor of Eisenhower High School’s newly-formed Care Club. We were very proud of the leadership team for doing a fantastic job in launching their first meeting. The 5 officers attracted 33 first-time members who expressed a desire to demonstrate care for their school and their community.
Given so much interest the team decided to organize themselves into a few different teams.
One team is called the RAH Team and will be focused on organizing the “Rise Against Hunger event.” They will do all the advertising, promotion, fund-raising, preparation, education, etc. to make sure it goes off like clockwork!
The other team is called the AKT Team and will be focused on organizing “Acts of Kindness.” They’ve already started to think of creative ways that they can encourage, cheer up, celebrate, and inspire others at Ike and in our community!
The next upcoming event will be the Rise Against Hunger meal-packing event in November. Stay tuned for more news as the date draws closer and how you can be of support!
