Charlottesville, VA – a car plowing into a crowd of anti-protestors killing a young woman and injuring 19.
Barcelona, Spain – a van mows down 14 people in a dense, up-scale shopping area full of tourists.
Turko, Finland – a crazy person with a huge knife goes on a stabbing spree killing 2 people and injuring many more.
This has been a terrible week with violence and death involving neo-Nazis, white nationalists, and ISIS across multiple countries!
I believe that the root of this violence tends to center around what we at the LIGHT! are fighting against – inequality.
Many of the white nationalists here in the US are feeling left behind, their lives being overtaken or jeopardized because of “external” groups (whether they be black, Mexican, Jews, etc.). I’m not certain about ISIS but I’m wondering how much of a following they would have if their people had felt well taken care of prior to joining ISIS.
Perhaps not so much?
None of this is sanctioned by God. We must stand against this violence.
