We do believe that transgender people are made in the image of God.<\/p>\n

We do believe that transgender people are deserving of dignity, respect and support.<\/p>\n

We do believe that one can be biologically male (chromosone) and psychologically female (or vice versa)<\/p>\n

We believe that in 9+\/10 cases of the general population it is straightforward to distinguish male from female for that is how God made humans<\/p>\n

We also acknowledge the people who are intersex (<1 out of 10 of the population)<\/p>\n

We believe that both sexes are equal in value before God. \u00a0However, there are certain fundamental differences between them including biological males being physically stronger and biological females being the only ones that can bear children.<\/p>\n

Because of this fundamental difference we believe that biological males should not participate as females in female sports where those differences matter materially (sports where strength, speed, size, etc. convey an advantage). \u00a0However, we are open to the idea of them competing in sports where those qualities are not material (e.g. shooting, racing, chess, etc.). \u00a0We are also open to them competing in female sports but with some qualifier that they are biological males.<\/p>\n

Finally, this is a complex issue with much nuance. \u00a0We are happy to talk further so, before you judge us, please engage us in a much deeper conversation so you can find truly understand where we are coming from (and vice versa!)<\/p>\n

Biden continued, \u201c[Jill Biden], [Vice President Kamala Harris,] [Douglas Emhoff], and my entire Administration see you for who you are \u2014 made in the image of God and deserving of dignity, respect, and support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Biden administration announced new actions to \u201csupport the mental health of transgender children, remove barriers that transgender people face accessing critical government services, and improve the visibility of transgender people in our nation\u2019s data.\u201d<\/p>\n

The administration said it is taking steps to create a more safe and dignified travel experience for transgender people by including a different gender option on their U.S. passport application.<\/p>\n

Other priorities listed by the administration include improving access to federal services and benefits for transgender Americans and advancing inclusion and visibility in federal data.<\/p>\n

During a video message celebrating the day, Biden called the \u201conslaught of anti-transgender state laws\u201d attacking transgender people and their families \u201csimply wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cThis administration is standing up for you against all these hateful bills.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sending a message to parents of transgender youth, Biden said, \u201cAffirming your child\u2019s identity is one of the most powerful things you can do to keep them safe and healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The administration has previously spoken out against what they call anti-transgender bills.<\/p>\n

In February, the White House condemned South Dakota\u2019s transgender athlete ban.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe unfortunate reality is that Republican legislators in South Dakota and across the country are leveling legislative attacks that target transgender kids and their families in order to score political points,\u201d White House Assistant Press Secretary Kevin Munoz said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cThese anti-transgender bills are nothing more than bullying disguised as legislation and undermine our nation\u2019s core values.\u201d<\/p>\n

Munoz argued that the bills \u201cput children and their families at risk of bullying and discrimination and, according to one recent study, damage the mental wellbeing of young people who deserve love and support.\u201d<\/p>\n
