While we stay out of politics we must stand up for Truth as Christians.  President Trump stood against truth.  He stood against rule of law.  He stood against democracy.  Even though he claimed to be pro-life (which we laud), any policy issue he takes is undermined because truth, rule of law and democracy<\/i> are fundamental to our constitutional republic.  Any policy which is not supported by those 3 elements can be over-turned at a whim.  And we all know just how the former President acted on his whims.<\/p>\n

So, like former Regan speechwriter Mona Charen, we also thank God every day that Joe Biden is President.  Even though, he does not share our view on the unborn he does support truth, rule of law and democracy.<\/i>  With those three elements in place we can rest assured that, as we continue further dialogue with him and his administration on life, we believe that abortions will continue to decline in the US and, more importantly, the laws will be respected.<\/p>\n

Although veteran conservative columnist and former Nancy Reagan speechwriter Mona Charen voted for Joe Biden in the United States\u2019 2020 presidential election and is a scathing critic of former President Donald Trump, she hasn\u2019t been shy about criticizing Biden\u2019s presidency at times. But in an article published by The Bulwark<\/i><\/a> on March 9, Charen praises Biden\u2019s handling of the Ukraine crisis.<\/p>\n

The 65 year-old Charen opens her article with some criticisms of Biden, including his decision to \u201cwithdraw precipitously from Afghanistan\u201d and his failure to prioritize \u201cthe urgent need to reform the Electoral Count Act.\u201d And Charen also criticizes Biden for \u201cdevoting most of his first year to assuaging the demands of the progressive wing of his party.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Charen adds, \u201cAnd yet, I thank God every day that Biden is president.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Russian offensive against Ukraine is the first crisis of his presidency other than COVID, which was ongoing when he assumed office,\u201d Charen explains. \u201cAnd in this emergency, he has redeemed the hopes of those who voted for competence. The (Biden) Administration\u2019s warnings to Moscow were unambiguous without being hysterical. Our revelations of intelligence unmasking Russian disinformation and false flag narratives were on the nose. Biden\u2019s coordination with European allies was neither bullying nor \u2018leading from behind,\u2019 but a skillful presentation of unity. Special kudos to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charen continues, \u201cBiden\u2019s muscular reaffirmation of the U.S. commitment to NATO was crucial not just for Europe, but for the world. China is taking notes on how the globe is responding to Putin and perhaps thinking twice about trying to conquer Taiwan. By proclaiming American solidarity with Ukraine and our democratic allies around the world, Biden has restored our equilibrium. If Ronald Reagan were still alive, he\u2019d find little to criticize in the Administration\u2019s approach.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thousands of people have been killed<\/a> since Russian troops, following orders from President Vladimir Putin, invaded Ukraine on February 24. The Biden Administration and his European NATO allies have responded to the crisis with tough economic sanctions<\/a> against Russia, although Biden has insisted that U.S. troops will not be offering any \u201cboots on the ground\u201d in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Trump and other MAGA Republicans, including Fox News\u2019 Tucker Carlson<\/a>, \u201cWar Room\u201d host Steve Bannon<\/a> and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo<\/a>, have praised Putin in 2022<\/a>. And Charen makes it clear that she considers Trump one of Putin\u2019s \u201cuseful idiots.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ukraine crisis reminds us that Trump is no run-of-the-mill fool, but a unique combination of stupidity and venality,\u201d Charen writes. \u201cA quick refresher on his relations with Putin and Ukraine leaves little doubt that far from deterring Putin, he was Putin\u2019s most reliable \u2018useful idiot\u2019\u2026. Trump was a dupe and a dope\u2026. Trump often repeated Putin\u2019s talking points.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charen argues that Trump admires Putin because the Russian president is a strongman.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump is a disturbed human being who is constantly revealing his attraction to violence and \u2018strength,\u2019\u201d Charen writes. \u201cEven as Putin was smashing his tanks into Ukraine, Trump fawned over his \u2018genius\u2019 and then boasted that \u2018I know him very, very well.\u2019 He said it was \u2018wonderful.\u2019 He backtracked after a day or two, but doubtless only after being advised that it was politically unwise. But if, God forbid, there were ever a second term, political considerations wouldn\u2019t be dispositive \u2014 and the most sinister and credulous man ever to disgrace the Oval Office would be unconstrained. Biden hasn\u2019t been perfect, but he\u2019s a godsend given the alternative.\u201d<\/p>\n
